Yes. Shore Surf Club will feature a four-acre surf lagoon delivering tailored, on-demand waves — from smooth peelers to barreling perfection. It comfortably accommodates 40 surfers per hour, with dedicated zones so beginners and advanced surfers can enjoy the waves at the same time.

There is a passionate surf community already in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Our site sits on Rt 34 in Wall, conveniently located near entrances to I-195 and Garden State Parkway.

Fifty-five-minute sessions are booked on-site or online with advance reservations. We ask beginners to arrive an hour before their session to be fitted for equipment and to attend a 30-minute training and safety session on land. During your session, you'll have 10–15 opportunities to catch a wave. Staff provide tips to the group, and individual lessons and coaching are available.

Same 55-minute sessions, booked in advance. Experienced surfers arrive 30 minutes early for a 10-minute safety session on land, then take 10–15 opportunities to catch waves during the session.

The facility accommodates 40 surfers per hour — 12 a side on the reef, left and right, plus eight surfers in each of the two bay sections.

Multiple, from beginner through advanced and pro settings. The technology generates everything from one-foot beginner waves to barreling six-foot waves.

Both. We plan to have rental surfboards and boogie boards, with wetsuits available for all seasons in a range of sizes. You're welcome to bring your own board provided it meets safety requirements.

Yes. Memberships will be offered for frequent surfers and for families who want to join the club for its amenities.

Members get priority wave access, member-only facilities, elevated dining, wellness amenities, and club-only experiences not available to the general public. Memberships are capped so every session and visit stays uncrowded.

Yes. The club intends to work with local vendors and hospitality partners. We proudly sponsor the Wall High School surf team with plans to create youth programs. We intend for the Wall High School surf team to use the lagoon as its home break.

Yes. Traffic counts were taken during the 2025 school year and summer. The increase along Route 34 is negligible — single digits. Because sessions are booked hourly, trips in any given hour stay low; the site operates much like a golf course, where people come and go by tee time.

No. We plan to keep as much of the natural landscape and tree cover as possible, working with the NJDEP and meeting all required buffers. Approximately seven acres along the wetlands near Allaire Road will be maintained as-is.

The project will meet the NJDEP's latest green infrastructure requirements, and no downstream flooding will be created.

Water temperature varies seasonally — typically in the 70s°F during warmer months and the mid-50s in winter. There are no current plans to heat the pool.

The goal is to operate most of the year, weather permitting.

Hours vary by season. In summer we anticipate running the lagoon 16 hours a day, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. In shoulder and winter months, 10–12 hours on average, roughly 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Yes — down-lighting will illuminate the lagoon, switched off after the last surf session.

The only audible noise is typically the rhythmic sound of waves breaking, much like the beach. Modern wave-generation systems use dampening to hold sound to roughly 45–50 dB or lower at the property boundary, and all mechanical equipment is housed within a reinforced concrete structure.

Surf lagoons have excellent safety records and follow strict standards. Unlike the ocean, this is a controlled environment with planned safety measures including emergency stops and lifeguards. The bottom is concrete, but the pool is engineered to minimize impact risk, and we provide safety briefings, helmets, and waves tailored to skill level.

Yes. Trained lifeguards staff all surf sessions and non-surf pool activity. Staffing exceeds local health department standards and adjusts to group size and season — summer activity is higher, so lifeguard counts increase for both the surf and recreational pools.
